Introducing the Official Artwork for PULiiMA 2025: Guidance by Jasmine Howell-Saunders
Each year, the PULiiMA Conference is brought to life through the work of a visual artist whose story and cultural expression reflect the heart of our theme. For 2025, we are proud to announce Guidance by Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Wurrung artist Jasmine Howell-Saunders as the official artwork of PULiiMA 2025.
As a digital artist based in Bendigo, Victoria, Jasmine has embraced her art as a way to connect deeply with her culture and identity. Through her creative practice, she shares powerful visual narratives that celebrate Aboriginal language, culture, and song — and speak to the strength of intergenerational knowledge.
Capturing the Spirit of 2025: Echoes of the Past, Voices of the Future
The theme for this year’s PULiiMA Conference is “Echoes of the Past, Voices of the Future.” Jasmine’s piece Guidance beautifully reflects this sentiment.
In Guidance, the presence of Ancestors is ever-felt — their hands outstretched, their wisdom flowing, guiding us forward. The artwork represents not only cultural continuity, but the importance of listening to the echoes of the past as we reclaim language and identity for the future.
Jasmine explains: “Guidance reflects the strength we carry in the present, supported by the wisdom of those who came before us. The song lines within the artwork map the journey of reclamation—of finding our way back to what was lost and reconnecting with our roots.”
This narrative resonates strongly with the mission of PULiiMA — to strengthen and celebrate Indigenous languages and cultures by honouring those who have led the way and empowering those who will lead the future.
The Artwork Journey
You’ll see Guidance woven into the PULiiMA 2025 experience in many ways. From our digital communications and promotional materials to vibrant display at the Darwin Convention Centre, the artwork will serve as a powerful visual anchor throughout the event.
We’re also excited to share that Guidance will feature in the design of this year’s Official PULiiMA 2025 Polo shirts — so keep an eye out for the reveal!

Jasmine Howell-Saunders is a proud Yorta Yorta and Dja Dja Wurrung woman with a growing presence in the digital art space. She is passionate about maintaining and celebrating Aboriginal language, storytelling, and connection to Country. Her work continues to explore identity, cultural revival, and the healing power of art.
